Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has been accused of taking the role of a serial caller on the Airbus SE bribery scandal.

Colleague Member of Parliament for Adaklu who expressed displeasure at the choice of words and statements of the Majority leader when he appeared on Citi TV noted that such comments make it difficult for him to fall in line as a junior member of the House.

He noted that if he decides to go down the same path as the leader of the House, he would be forced to say certain things that would be considered an insult to Parliament.

Kwame Governs Agbodza expressed this displeasure on Metro TV’s Good Morning show.

He said, “I expect certain people in this country to consider their positions before saying certain things. If you are not even a lawyer you understand that when judges write their judgment and leave certain things it is based on reasons.”

“There is a reason why they did not mention certain names in the judgment.”

“So if you are a leader of a respected group and you join serial callers to talk that way you make it difficult for me to hold myself back if I want to respond to you,” he said.

Mr. Agboza noted that the high horse the Majority leader and his NPP are riding on with regards to the Airbus scandal is a feeling that this is a potential respite for the rot that is going on in the Akufo-Addo government.

He welcomed the referral of the matter to the Special Prosecutor by President Akufo-Addo to determine whether President John Dramani Mahama was the person mentioned in the judgment as ‘Government Official 1.

He added, “Unlike the No.12 video where President Akufo-Addo was mentioned by name as the Official No.1 to have received the five million dollars and the Vice President three million dollars, according to Nyantakyi.”
