The governing New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Akuapem-South in the Eastern Region, Eric Appeadu Yeboah, has called for a spirited campaign by all stakeholders in the constituency to achieve victory in the 2024 general elections.

Addressing party executives, including polling station executives, branch executives, volunteers, Assembly members, and former executives, amongst others, the aspiring lawmaker expressed gratitude to the party stakeholders for electing him as the PC and said the battle ahead is surmountable if the party comes together at all levels.

He was speaking during a visit to the constituency by the Minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong.

Stressing that a divided house couldn’t stand, Mr. Appeadu underscored the need for hard work as an essential tool towards victory.

The parliamentary candidate's call for unity is rooted in his firm belief that harmony within the party remains one of the most critical virtues required for success in the elections.

“We should come together; we should bury our differences and come together to work for the party because we always have to put the party first and put our individual differences aside,” said the MP hopeful.

Bryan Acheampong's visit formed part of efforts to energize the base and motivate the party’s campaign team within the various constituencies in the Eastern Region toward ensuring their commitment ahead of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The agriculture minister, as part of his tour, will meet with polling station executives, branch executives, volunteers, Assembly members, and former executives, among others, in the Eastern Region.

Lauding Mr. Acheampong’s efforts, the parliamentary candidate said, “It [tour] is good because you always have to motivate your campaign team for them to work hard for the party. You have to give them a message; you've got to let them know the reason why we've got to work harder so that we can break the eight and also make sure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia wins as president and also that we retain the Akuapem-South seat.”

Asked if the campaign team was ready for the task ahead of the general elections, he answered in the affirmative, emphasizing that door-to-door and community engagements with the electorate were being employed in the campaign strategy.

“They’re ready because we started the campaign long ago. We’ve done door-to-door; we’ve engaged the communities,” he said.

Despite the seat being a safe one for the NPP over the past years, the aspiring lawmaker noted that the situation won’t affect the campaign of the party, adding that the NPP won’t underrate its opponents, including the NDC, in the contest.

This, he noted, is to ensure that the ruling party maximizes its votes in the Constituency.

He expressed his sincerest gratitude to the regional executives of the party and the agriculture minister for giving them a campaign message and the former’s contribution towards the campaign in the Akuapem-South Constituency.

Also present at the tour were other parliamentary candidate hopefuls who contested the position with Mr. Appeadu in the primaries to demonstrate their unalloyed support for the party and the PC.

Eric Appeadu Yeboah is seeking to succeed the incumbent MP for the area, O.B. Amoah, who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development.
