Akufo-Addo Does Not Believe In Free SHS

-Kufuor Faction Confirmed

Intelligence Desk Report

It is now clear that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag-bearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, does not believe in his own political invention of over-theorized ‘free-Senior High School’ education, in the unlikely event that he is voted president of Ghana, come December 7, 2012.

Sources close to the ex-President John Kufuor-faction in the NPP, have disclosed to The Informer that, when questioned if he fails to administer the free SHS what happens, Nana Addo, said “if I cannot do it, which court will rule that I should be sacked as President for not implementing the free SHS”.

The close associates in the Kufuor faction, making these sterling revelations, challenge The Informer to check and find out how many people in the Kufuor faction have been trumpeting the free SHS idea.

One of them said, it is only recently that former President John Agyekum Kufuor joined the Nana Addo’s free SHS chorus. The people also asked “have you seen people like Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, Mr. Appiah Minkah, Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Kwadwo Mpiani and Dr, Konadu Apraku talk about the free SHS”.

Akufo-Addo is said to have become very angry that Papa Owusu Ankomah made comments that the free SHS is a venture, impossibility. The NPP flagbearer, according to sources, has decided that in the event he wins the elections, he will teach the Kufuor-sect proper Akyem sense.

To refresh the minds of readers, we reproduce below, what Papa Owusu Ankomah has said about the free SHS policy being championed by his flagbearer.

Free SHS will be tough but...

A former Minister of Education in the Kufuor Administration, Papa Owusu Ankomah has predicted that an Akufo-Addo led presidency would have tough challenges implementing its flagship free SHS policy.

According to him, one of the immediate challenges that the NPP will encounter is inadequate infrastructure as enrollment is expected to shoot up astronomically.

The Member of Parliament for Sekondi who was speaking to Joy FM’s Western regional correspondent, Kweku Owusu Peprah said he is confident that the NPP has the right leadership to implement this “tough policy”.

Papa Owusu Ankomah expressed concerns that the free SHS policy will lead to a situation where parents will shirk entire responsibility on the upkeep of their wards in SHS.

The Sekondi MP was however confident that the NPP would successfully implement the free SHS policy should the party be voted to power in the December 7 polls. Source: Joyonline
