A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team, George Nash has disclosed that government easing restrictions is the cause of high rise of coronavirus cases in Ghana.
According to him, the Nana-Addo led NPP government has failed in its effort at mobilising the necessary logistics, resources, and personnel in the fight against the deadly COVID-19.
“President Akufo-Addo has failed in controlling the spread of coronavirus in Ghana that is why Ghana is recording massive increase of coronavirus cases, why must you ease the restrictions for your selfish interest,’’ , George Nash told Reynold Agyemang on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
George Nash was of the view that,"the president was behind the scheme of the EC and NIA’s grand agenda to rig this year’s general elections in favour of the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP)"
He said the EC chair’s decision not to honour the invitation of the National House of Chiefs was a clear indication of the entrenched position taken by the EC not to listen to any other party apart from itself concerning the compilation of a new voters’ register for the 2020 elections.
According to him, the president’s move is driven by what happens at the Electoral Commission or the National Identification Authority, but they are not informed by the need to secure public health and safety.
