Akufo-Addo is Our Best and Only Choice: Joseph Nayan

11th July, 2010:- The Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North, the only for the NPP in the Volta Region, Hon. Joseph Nayan has declared that Nana Akufo-Addo is the only candidate amongst the five who can bring the party back to power in 2012.

He noted that “although all the five aspirants qualify to be president, the one who can first of all win us the power is Nana Akufo-Addo. Other candidates have already been here but I stayed away. I came with Nana Akufo-Addo to meet with you because I believe he is the only one who can win us power in 2012.”

He was speaking at the Kpassa Community Centre, where Nana Akufo-Addo and his Victory 2012 Campaign Team met with delegates of the Nkwanta North constituency to sell to them their message of hope.

He remarked that “Nana Akufo-Addo has done it before, he won parliamentary elections three times, he contested the last general elections and did very well and is thus not a candidate we can do away with.”

He stated that “Nana Akufo-Addo is the most popular figure in our party and also the most popular politician in our country and it is obvious that if we vote him as our flag bearer, he will help the party win the 2012 general elections.”

He tasked the people to work hard for Nana Akufo-Addo and ensure that he wins the August 7 nomination of the party and also the December 2012 general elections.

“You voted me to represent you in Parliament because you have confidence in me and my judgment. I will never recommend a bad person to you. I have brought you the winnable candidate, the most popular amongst all, the best and only choice for the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”, he said to a deafening applause from the delegates.

“We are all suffering in Ghana today because of the mistake of 2008. The NDC have showed clearly that they cannot develop our country and bring prosperity to the people and therefore Ghana and Ghanaians need the NPP back in power and the only one who can win us back this power in 2012 is Nana Akufo-Addo” he noted.

He implored delegates of his constituency to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo on August 7 so that when the votes are counted and declared, Nkwanta North will deliver 100% for him.

On his part, Nana Akufo-Addo’s Campaign Director, Mr. Boakye Agyarko reminded polling station executives that they are delegates today because of the singular efforts of Nana Akufo-Addo and that if anybody has confidence in the party’s grassroots; it is Nana Akufo-Addo.

He noted that in the build up to the constitutional amendments by the party, some people spoke vehemently against the inclusion of polling station executives into the party’s Electoral College, a move that Nana Akufo-Addo championed with his time and resources.

“If today, the party has agreed to give the power to you, I implore you to use it wisely. I ask you in all humility to vote for the man who has a vision for you and not those who argued that you are not wise enough to decide who leads our party into the general election” he remarked.

He tasked the delegates to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and thus give the rest of the nation a strong indication of how united and prepared the party is for power. The Victory 2012 Team then moved on to Nkwanta and finally to Poase to meet with delegates of the Nkwanta South and Akan constituencies respectively. Senior members from the region have since been touring with the Victory 2012 Campaign Team of Nana Akufo-Addo. They include among others Douglas Worgba, Regional Coordinator, Johnson Avulete, Hon. Kwesi Owusu Yeboah, former Volta Regional Minister, Mawusi Nudekor Awuti, Dr. Letsa Archibald, 2nd Regional Vice Chairman, Alhaji Issa, Regional Nasara Coordinator, Peter Akwetey, Regional Treasurer, Mrs. Doleku, Regional Women Organiser and Kojo Ayim, Regional Organiser.
