Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has opined that the Akufo-Addo led administration’s focus is to allow Ghanaian women to heave a sigh of relief in these trying times.

In a press briefing on Monday in Accra, he asked women to be “rest assured that we have a president and a government which is behind women particularly even though generally His Excellency is behind the whole of the country but of particular interest to His Excellency is women”.

He noted that the reason President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo absorbed three months utility tariffs for Ghanaians was that the president’s focus is on women though he cares for all.

Pius Enam Hadzide explained that “…things like water, things like electricity are matters of major concerns to mothers so for the president to want to engage in that humanitarian and sensitive enterprise of absorbing utility tariffs. If you ask most women, it touches them directly…”

He also stated that since time immemorial, it’s the Akufo-Addo government that has created more space for women to occupy in government, citing the first female chief of staff, Frema Opare as an example.

Speaking on Free SHS, he made known that the policy was to enroll girls onto the policy to get them educated to bridge the girl-child education gap left over the years.

He, therefore, entreated women to appreciate the government's interventions put in place to favour all.
