The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has called on President Akufo-Addo to step aside after his first term in office.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, the lawmaker stated that he is ready to contest Former President John Mahama in the 2020 elections.

He, however, added that he will hand over power to President Akufo-Addo after he beats Mahama in the elections.

Speaking on Adom TV on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, he stated that “Akufo-Addo is too big for Mahama… me… me Kennedy Agyapong I can beat Mahama in any election. If Akufo-Addo likes, he should step aside for me to face Mahama and I will do all the campaign; I will beat him! And when I win I will bring Akufo-Addo back to rule.”

His reason, YEN.com.gh understands, is that Akufo-Addo is too big for John Mahama for which reason he wants the president to take a rest for the meantime.

Kennedy Agyapong added that things were hard in the country, but Akufo-Addo “is now building the foundation for Ghana” because “Mahama ate the foundation of Ghana in his mouth into his stomach.”
