Cape Coast, Jan. 20, GNA - The presidential candidate for the National Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2008 general election, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday charged the party's supporters in the Central Region to remain united and rally behind the national executive for victory in 2012, warning: "A house that is not united cannot stand." He urged party faithful not to play the blame game but be circumspect in their utterance about the party and its national executive.
Nana Akufo-Addo made the call when he addressed a"thanksgiving rally " at the Kotokuraba Lorry Station in Cape Coast to thank the people of the region for the support they showed him and the NPP during the election.
He expressed optimism that the NPP would "kick" the ruling National Democratic Congress out of power in 2012 because the "NPP is still moving forward".
Mr. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Campaign Manager of Akufo-Addo, also urged all supporters to "swallow all inordinate ambitions and put the agenda of the NPP first".
Among those present at the rally were the former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo; former Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast, Ms Christine Churcher; former Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur; MP for Okre, Mr. Dan Kweku Botwe and Ms Mercy Arhin, Metropolitan Chief Executive. Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to address a similar rally at Agona Swedru, also in the Central Region.
