The Volta Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Secretary, Joseph Homenya, has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for picking Former President John Dramani Mahama as their presidential candidate.
According to him, John Mahama winning the NDC Presidential candidate race indicates the opposition party lacks personalities to lead the party into general elections.
He is, however, optimistic the former President would again suffer a great loss at the hands of President Akufo-Addo in the 2020 general elections.
“We will make sure that he remains the former President that he is, because come 2020, Nana Addo is going to beat him heavily again”, he said when speaking at the inauguration of the Ho Constituency NPP Women’s Wing in the Volta Regional capital, Ho.
He added that “... Nana Addo is going to beat Mahama again like a father and son fight.”
He said the Akufo-Addo-led-government’s performance at the end of the first term would convince electorates to give the NPP another term “to continue its good works.”
Nonetheless, he rallied the party to remain united and continue supporting government in its endeavour to enhance the livelihoods of Ghanaians.
Mr Homenya also implored Ghanaians to take advantage of the numerous programmes and policies being implemented by government to economically empower themselves.
