Yaw Buaben Asamoa has praised Alan Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change and an independent presidential candidate-hopeful, for his exceptional leadership qualities and achievements.

In a recent interview on the KSM Show, he stated that in 1994, Alan Kyerematen was recognized by Time Magazine as one of the 100 global leaders who could impact the millennium, alongside Bill Gates and Condoleezza Rice.

He emphasized that Alan has always been a transformational leader, exhibiting leadership skills in his private and business life, stating that his leadership is needed to restore confidence and hope in the country and to drive Ghana's development.

“Alan has always exhibited leadership in his private life and business life. He was recognized by Time Magazine in the US as one of the 100 most influential people who they believed could impact the millennium in leadership, alongside Bill Gates and Condoleezza Rice. Post-2000, he started Empretec Ghana and then was put in charge of Enterprise Africa. Nelson Mandela decided to bring together a panel of 7 experts to empower his people to diversify the economy. If today black empowerment is flourishing in South Africa, Alan had a hand in it. He creates things; he has always been a leader,” he emphasized.

Yaw Buaben Asamoa also spoke about Alan’s role in supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during Ghana's military rule, forming the Young Executive Forum to mobilize funds for the NPP, and his leadership in the party for several years.

“Every time Alan took part in primaries, he was literally oppressed. If you are a supporter of Alan, you are ostracized. You know we have a way of developing an album; the internal register presently, when it is being compiled, people who support Alan, their names would be removed. If Alan had become the leader of the party, he would have done surgery to restore the confidence and hope in the party in order for the voter to accept him,” he noted.

He explained that, as an ambassador, Alan persuaded Ghanaians in the US to invest in Ghana's oil industry, leading to the discovery of oil in commercial quantities.

He also developed a policy that brought six automobile companies to Ghana, which are now producing vehicles in the country. Additionally, he led Ghana to become one of the first countries to benefit from the Millennium Challenge Account, the report said.
