Mr. Ernest Adomah Baffour, Kpando Municipal Electoral Officer has assured electorate in the Municipality that all was set for the District Assembly and Unit Committee elections scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17, 2019.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), he said voting materials for all 74 centres in 18 communities in the Municipality had been received and ready for District Level Elections.
Torkor has eight centres, Gabi has seven, Dzoanti has three, Fesi has five, Aloyi has five, Zongo has three, Tsakpe New Town and Old Town have five and eight respectively, Aziave has five, Sovie Deme and Konda have three and two respectively, Kpando Konda has five, Dafor has three, Agodzi has two, Agbonoxoe has two and Gbefi Hoeme and Tornu has five and two respectively.
Mr. Baffour said he believed the Kpando Municipality would experience the most peaceful elections ever conducted in the Region.
He admonished the electorate to "be of their best behaviour on the day of election because security presence will be massive at all centres.
"Get to the centre early, cast your vote and leave immediately and return after 5pm for counting" he added.
Mr. Baffour said enough communication about the cancellation of the referendum by the various stakeholders had been undertaken in the Municipality and was certain the people were well informed.
The District Assembly and Unit Committee elections forms part of Government's process of decentralising governance to involve the grassroots in decision making processes.
