The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra region (GAR),Boniface Abubakar Saddique, has reminded the electorate of the Constituency that, the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, was no asset to the development of the Constituency.
It is in view of this that, “we must unite and retire the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Alhaji Amadu Sorogho in this year’s parliamentary election”.
Alhaji Abubakar, made this comment after he joined the Moslem community at Karika Mosque headed by Mallam Mutawakir at Madina West zongo to observe last Friday prayers.
He explained that, the MP cannot boast of anything he has done for the nation for that matter the Constituency except, he chairing the Energy and Mines Sub-Committee of Parliament.
He said, the strategy to unseat the sitting MP requires that, all the electorate who are affected by the issues of under development of the area, must unite be it members of the NPP or the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He noted that, the assertion by the MP that, he needed another chance to correct the wrongs he had committed, should be totally ignored, since he has had three consecutive chances as MP for the area, but failed to make any meaningful impart, due to his incompetence, ignorance and mismanagement.
“If he had failed to use 12 years to bring development to Madina what can he do with the next four years to come.
His time is up and we must retire him. I am aware of all the manipulations and machinations he engaged in before particularly during elections in the Constituency and we will stop him this time”.
He said, the mission was about Madina and not about personalities, but also about the interest of the electorate of the area.
He added that, Madina was one of the fastest growing municipalities in the country, but it has no hospital, yet the leadership of the area pride themselves as working for the people.
He added that, the agenda to unseat the MP was not about the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) or the opposition NPP, but the interest of the vast majority of the electorate who are disenchanted about the modus of the current MP.
He further urged the NPP supporters to also widen their house to house campaigns and reach out to a large number of the disgruntled and disappointed members of the NDC in the Constituency to help expand the vote margins in favor of the NPP in both the presidential and the parliamentary elections.
He said, though the Madina Constituency, has never been won by the NPP since its creation, he believes that with the current level of unity prevailing amongst members, delegates and executives of the party, coupled with his strong message of “Mission Madina” the Constituency can fall to the NPP this year.
He was convinced the electorate in the Constituency, would do him the honour by voting for him to become its Member of Parliament in 2017.
He said, the stealing of votes, exchange of ballot boxes and papers in the Constituency, would stop this year.
“His own people have ignored him because of his character and we will join forces to retire him this year”, he added.
He said, “We will win Madina, this year and finally retire Amadu Sorogho for good.
I want to assure Nana Akufo-Addo, Ghana’s President-in-waiting, that his votes share in Madina, will increase. “Akufo-Addo, will win in Madina, Boniface will also win in Madina”
