Amenfi West MP interacts with constituents

Asankrangwa (W/R), Sept 22, GNA - Mr John Gyetuah, MP for Amenfi West, has called on the people, irrespective of their political affiliations to burry their differences and support the government's development programmes.

He said this at a forum held at Asankrangwa on Wednesday, during which he briefed the people on the work of Parliament and the need for them to forge a united front to achieve their aspirations. Mr. Gyetuah said child trafficking was a criminal offence and warned that any one caught dealing in it would face the full rigours of the law.

He gave the assurance that the town would be provided with an efficient telecommunication service to enhance social and economic activities. The participants appealed to the Ghana Education Service to find a solution to the problems brought about by the computerised school selection system since it was giving "sleepless nights" to parents and guardians.

Mr. Andrews Appiah, a farmer appealed to the Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines to review the laws on valuation and compensation for farms destroyed by timber contractors. He complained that some timber companies continued to destroy food and cash crop farms in the area without paying "any meaningful compensations to farmers".
