Apraku confident in Central/Western Regions campaign teams

Cape Coast, June 19, GNA - Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, the National Campaign Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed optimism that the Central and Western Regional campaign teams would make positive impact in the 2008 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. He said with the calibre of people forming the teams, they would make a great impact to ensure a landslide victory for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to enable him continue the good works of President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after inaugurating the two campaign teams for the two regions on Wednesday in Cape Coast, Dr Apraku said the Western team that is well balanced and devoid of ethnicity, would work to fulfil its mission. Again, he said the Central Regional team, which has Mr Kennedy Agyepong, Member of Parliament for Assin North, as the Chairman, could also brighten the chances of the party in the various constituencies of the region.

Dr Apraku said: "Mr Agyepong has the expertise, capability and resources to support the party to work hard to win both parliamentary and presidential elections."

He urged members of the party to bury their political differences to enable them disseminate the good message of party to the people to help them to make informed choices.

The Campaign Director expressed the hope that, the NPP would win the December elections and called for a team spirit, hard work and dedication to assist the party. He called on all the various national campaign teams to conduct themselves well and in a manner that would bring a landslide victory.
