Armah-Kofi Buah wins Ellembelle parliamentary seat for the fifth term

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ellembelle constituency in the Western Region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has retained the Ellembelle parliamentary seat for the fifth term.

Armah-Kofi Buah defeated the then CPP's MP, Freddie Blay, in 2008 to secure his first victory, and since then, he has been retaining the seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Going into this year's parliamentary election, the Ellembelle NPP parliamentary candidate, who is also the Ellembelle DCE, Kwasi Bonzoh, promised to defeat Armah-Kofi Buah.

Kwasi Bonzoh was captured on record saying, "Armah-Kofi Buah is Mugabe in Ellembelle, but he has done nothing in Ellembelle. He has wasted the 16 years as Ellembelle MP, so this time around I'm going to defeat him."

But at the end of the elections in Ellembelle, Armah-Kofi Buah secured a resounding victory by polling 32,281 votes to beat his two main contenders. The Ellembelle DCE and Ellembelle NPP parliamentary candidates got 18,608 votes, and the Ellembelle PPP parliamentary candidate managed to get 132 votes.

The margin between Armah-Kofi Buah and Kwasi Bonzoh is 13,673 votes.

The total valid votes cast were 51,453, and 425 ballot papers were rejected.

Ellembelle constituency has 161 polling stations, and the EC officials in Ellembelle announced the certified results at 3:35 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Presidential Results in Ellembelle Constituency

Former President John Dramani Mahama got 32,180 votes to beat Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who had 17,369 votes.

Nana Kwame Bediako came third by polling 501 votes, followed by Christian Andrew of the Ghana Union Movement, who got 164 votes.

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa of CPP had 92 votes, Hassan Ayariga of APC got 68 votes, Alan Kyerenmanteng had 58 votes, Daniel Lartey of GCPP got 39 votes, Kofi Akpaloo of LPG had 19 votes, Kofi Koranteng had 10 votes, Twum Barima also had 10 votes, and Mohammed Frimpong had 7 votes.

The margin between John Mahama and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was 14,811 votes.

The total valid votes cast were 51,539, and 1,022 ballot papers were rejected.

After the official declaration of results in the Ellembelle constituency, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah commended the people of the Ellembelle constituency who devoted their time to show up in their numbers to vote for him on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

He also commended his NDC polling agents for playing a key role in his victory.

Armah-Kofi Buah used the opportunity to thank God for touching the hearts of Ghanaians to vote massively for former President John Mahama.

He promised his constituents that he would work harder than before to develop the Ellembelle constituency.

The election in the Ellembelle constituency was very peaceful.
