Kumasi, July 24, GNA - The executive and members of the Ashanti Regional NDC zongo caucus on Monday expressed their condolences to the immediate family, the NDC family and all Ghanaians on the death of Justice D.F Annan, the First Speaker of Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
In a statement issued in Kumasi and jointly signed by Mr Salu Ibrahim and Alhaji Alhassan Ibn Ibrahim, the Vice chairman and the Secretary respectively, the caucus said Ghana had lost one of its illustrious sons whose contribution to the development of parliamentary democracy was monumental.
It said Ghanaians would always remember the late Mr Justice Annan for his fairness in parliamentary proceedings, which won him the admiration of all parliamentarians from both side of the divide. The statement said the leadership qualities of Mr Justice Annan should inspire the present politicians to emulate his examples and work hard to consolidate democracy and promote the speedy socio-economic development of the country.
It called on the government to put all political differences aside and accord the late Mr Justice Annan a befitting burial to reflect his enormous contribution to Ghana's political development.
