The Assembly Member for Alajo North Electoral Area in the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly (ACMA), Ibrahim Halidu, emphasized the importance of peace and unity as Ghanaians approach the upcoming general elections on December 7.

In a speech delivered at the Graduation, Speech, and Prize Giving Day ceremony at New Star School, located in the Alajo North Electoral Area, on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, Mr. Halidu urged the community to foster an atmosphere of harmony and cooperation.

He stressed that these values are not only essential for a peaceful election process but are also critical for safeguarding the education and future of the nation's youth.

"Without peace and unity," he noted, "the stability of our educational institutions and the opportunities available to our students are at serious risk. Instability and discord can create an environment that hampers learning and limits the potential for students to thrive."

The assembly member also took the opportunity to praise the efforts of educators and parents who play a pivotal role in shaping the character and future of the students.

He acknowledged their hard work and dedication, especially in these challenging times, and urged them to continue instilling values of peace, respect, and civic responsibility in the younger generation.

Mr. Halidu’s remarks were met with appreciation from those in attendance, as he reminded the community of their collective responsibility to ensure that the younger generation inherits a nation that is secure, prosperous, and united.
