The Members of Parliament on the National Democratic Congress side have hooted at their colleagues on the other side, the New Patriotic Party.
This was just after the NPP addressed the media at Parliament regarding how they feel about the decision of the NDC MPs to take over their seats at the Majority side of the House.
The NDC MPs, heard shouting, 'Away! Away!' could be seen laughing and teasing their colleagues on the other side.
It is worth noting that there has been confusion in the House of Parliament regarding who is actually the Majority in Parliament following two major decisions made by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin; and the Supreme Court.
In the case of the Speaker of Parliament, he ruled on Thursday, October 17, 2024, that four seats in Parliament be declared vacant after the MPs of those constituencies decided to cross carpets with regards their political affiliations.
His ruling was premised on what the 1992 Constitution states in Article 97 (1)(g) and (h).
On the other side, the Supreme Court heard a matter from the New Patriotic Party MPs regarding the decision of Alban Bagbin, eventually ordering for a stay of execution on the Speaker's decision.
But the MPs from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have insisted that they will only work with the decision of the Speaker of Parliament and not the Supreme Court.
Making their way to the floor of Parliament early, the NDC MPs took over the seats of the Majority side of the House, with some members of the NPP also doing same in the same corner of the floor of the House.
