Assembly members at Awutu Senya have confirmed Mr Steven Quaye as the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area.
Mr Quaye polled 29 out of 31 votes, representing 94 per cent. In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for nominating him.
Mr Quaye noted that his priorities for the district include strengthening of the sub-structures, revenue mobilisation, and sanitation. He, therefore, called on the people in the district to support him so he could be effective and efficient and successful after his tenure.
He pledged his readiness to help move the agenda of the President and that of the assembly forward.
Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Communications, who is also the MP for the area, Nenyi George Andah, had appealed to the assembly members to put aside "political colours" and vote massively for Mr Quaye to make the President’s dream of developing the district a reality.
