The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, John Dumelo, has accused his New Patriotic Party (NPP) contender, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, of attempting to import votes.

In a post shared on July 8, 2024, John Dumelo accused the NPP parliamentary candidate of trying to transfer votes from the Ashaiman constituency.

The NDC parliamentary candidate, who made these remarks while reacting to a post urging him to be vigilant, questioned why the MP is trying so hard to remain in power.

He added that if Lydia Seyram Alhassan had represented the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon properly, she would not be trying so hard to transfer votes to the constituency.

"We are being vigilant. That's how come we were able to unravel the dubious act by Lydia in her office.

"If you know you deserve another term as an MP, why attempt to import votes from Ashaiman?" he queried.

The actor cum politician later deleted the post.
