The Spokesperson for John Mahama's election campaign Joyce Bawah Mogtari has indicated that, since 2020, Ghanaians have desired a change in government.
The aide to John Mahama argues that the recent ruling by the Speaker of Parliament is an indication of this need for change.
She adds that the NDC deserves to be recognized, and rightly so, as the country’s majority in Parliament.
She is of the view that today’s ruling redefines the Speaker’s democratic credentials, indicating that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government is already in opposition.
She said, “Right from the 2020 elections, it was apparent that Ghanaians even then desired a change in government.
"It was apparent then that Akufo Addo only wanted to serve his own aggrandizement. Speaker Bagbin has been gracious and truly democratic. Today’s landmark ruling redefines the Rt. Hon. Speaker’s democratic credentials and his leadership.
"The NDC deserves to be recognized, and rightly so, as the majority of Ghana’s Parliament. A historic moment for the NDC and for Ghana! Mahama’s legacy continues. Now, even in government, Akufo-Addo is obviously in opposition.”
