The Communication Officer of the NDC in the Jomoro Constituency, Lenrie Nyamekeh, has chastised the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for deceiving the good people of Jomoro.
According to him, in 2020, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited Jomoro to cut sod for the reconstruction of the Samenye Barrier to Half Assini road, but till now nothing has been done about the road.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to visit the Jomoro constituency to canvass for votes on Friday, September 27, 2024.
In a statement, he also chastised the NPP youth in the constituency for sharing the flyers of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
"Today you see shameless NPP youth sharing fliers of the Vice President of the Republic, who doubles as the presidential candidate of the NPP, of his intentions to visit Jomoro to campaign. I laugh and at the same time cry for these youth, most of whom are unemployed," he stated.
"I ask myself a simple question: Is this the same person who exactly four years ago, in October 2020, summoned all religious leaders, journalists, and the chiefs and elders of the land, including the paramount chief of our land, Awulae Annor Adjei, and promised the good people of Jomoro to use only 2 years to construct the Samenye-JJaway Wharf-Newtown roads? This stretch of roads that has turned into fish ponds? I want to believe that as Alhaji Bawumia comes to Jomoro tomorrow, he will come and commission the roads that he has finished constructing."
"Never tolerate disrespect from any man, no matter how old he is. There is no excuse for abuse, whether it be directed at you, your loved one, or a friend. Those who disrespect others have an arrogant sense of self. Being disrespectful shows immaturity, a sense of entitlement, and is a personal choice to be abusive," he added.
He, therefore, appealed to the Paramount Chief of Western Nzema traditional council, Awulae Annor Adjaye II, to ask Dr. Bawumia why he failed to honour his 2020 pledge to the good people of Jomoro.
"It's for this reason that I will be very surprised if tomorrow, Alhaji'monfa steer no mame' Bawumia does not invite Awulae Annor Adjei to the gathering. My greatest surprise, however, will be if Awulae does not tell him in the face of his failure to construct the roads, and for that matter, the good people of Jomoro will not give him a hearing to any other lofty promises that he gives.
"Now to the respected Western Regional Chairman of the NPP, the good people of Jomoro are saying we still have the audio on which you boldly said, you SHALL not follow Alhaji Bawumia to campaign in Jomoro if the roads are not fixed. We know you to be a man of principle. We are watching."
"Jomoro can boast of not less than 4 approved border towns that generate millions of Ghana cedis to the government annually. What at all can this NPP government be proud of giving to the good people of Jomoro?" parts of the statement read.
