The Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party, Evans Nimako, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to reconsider the methodology it used in accessing the provisional voters register, accusing them of not presenting enough evidence to back their claims of discrepancies in the voters register.
Speaking at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, he advised the NDC to review their methodology.
"Out of the issues you raised, it was only one, the numbers involved 15,000 votes transfer, 50,000 dead people, it was only one. So, please the data has said it all. To the extent that your methodology has questions. From the recommendations you have gotten here, you should be humble enough to review your methodology so that you don't raise issues that do not have basis to cause a focal point that causes mayhem," he stated.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns about the integrity of the provisional register for the pending elections and has called for an independent forensic audit of the register.
According to the party, a forensic audit is essential to ensure a fair and credible electoral process, and to address any public concerns about the accuracy of the voter's register.
