Betty Bosumtwi-Sam Gets the nod for Sekondi

Sekondi, Aug 9, GNA - Miss Betty Bosumtwi-Sam, a 38-year-old Teacher, was on Saturday elected, by popular acclamation, as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Sekondi. She was the sole candidate at the close of nominations.

Miss Bosumtwi-Sam pledged to use resources at her disposal, to clench victory for the NDC, in Election 2004.

She said: "I know the needs and aspirations of the people of Sekondi, particularly the younger generation and I will not rest until these aspirations and needs of the people have been addressed." Miss Bosumtwi-Sam said: "No significant project has appeared anywhere in the Sekondi Constituency," since the opening of the Albert Bosumtwi-Sam Fishing Harbour, which her late brother, Mr Albert Bosumtwi-Sam initiated.

"It will be my singular objective to see that Sekondi is restored to its former glory where there will be employment opportunities for all classes of people to enable them to maintain their self respect and human dignity."
