Kwamikrom (V/R), Aug.10, GNA - All the 13 members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Executive Committee of the Biakoye Constituency were returned unopposed at the Constituency Delegates' Conference at Kwamikrom on Saturday.
Mr Bismark Nteh, Jasikan District Officer of the Electoral Commission, told the more than 200 delegates that when nominations closed on July 30, only one candidate each had filed their nomination papers, therefore all the officers had been returned unopposed. Loud applause followed this announcement.
The NDC Member of Parliament for Biakoye, Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bandua congratulated the new executive officers and told them that they were being given a new mandate to consolidate the position of the Party well enough to succeed in its match to the Osu Castle in Accra during the 2008 General Election.
He said the Executives should do well to participate in Party activities in other constituencies to foster unity. Mr Steve Akorli, the Volta Regional Treasurer of the Party and one time Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications in the NDC Government, said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration was becoming disastrous.
