Bibiani (W/R), Oct 31, GNA- Mr. Moses Carrison, a 50-year-old headmaster of Sefwi-Bekwai District Assembly Junior Secondary School was on Monday elected the Presiding Member of the assembly at its inauguration at Bibiani. He polled 32 votes, whiles his contestant, Mr. Ackah Manu had 12 votes. Professor George Gyan-Baffour, a Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning was delegated by the President to oversee the inauguration. thanked the outgoing assembly members for their selfless, dedication and
high sense of understanding. He said such qualities have translated into the many projects and successful programmes that have earned the district an enviable position in the Western Region.
"You fought a good fight and the mark you made will forever remain a living testimony".
The DCE also congratulated the incoming assembly members for their hard earned victory and called for their commitment in the war against insanitary conditions, depletion of the forests and other negative social vices that draw the district development clock backwards.
