Binduri (UE), April 14, GNA- Mr. Mark Anthony, a retained National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Binduri constituency in the Upper East Region, has asked the people to collectively decide on development projects most needed for the area. He explained that members of parliament were not supposed to impose development projects on the people, instead they were expected to identify their developmental needs.
Mr Anthony, who polled 71 votes, was speaking at the party's primaries to elect a parliamentary candidate for the Binduri constituency to contest 2008 parliamentary election. He said he would continue to work hard to ensure that more development projects went to the area and appealed for the support of the people to enable his achieve his goal. Mr Ben Azure, who had 56 votes, pledged to work with Mr Anthony to ensure that the party wins the seat adding "winning the seat for the party in the Binduri constituency is paramount and dear to my heart."
Alhaji Osman Kasim, the NDC constituency chairman, urged members of the party to remain united and work together to enable the party to win the seat. The election was conducted by the officials of the Electoral Commission of the Bawku Municipality with the assistance of the party's regional executives including Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, regional chairman, Mr Richard Adua, regional vice chairman, Mr David Aruk, regional Organizer and Alhaji Issah Mumuni Regional Treasurer.
