Blay salutes Asanteman

National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddie Blay has saluted the people of Asanteman for their bravery.

He said he was amazed about the huge number of people that took part in the ‘Ya Ye Den Demonstration’ in Kumasi on Tuesday.

Organised by the Ashanti Regional NPP and the Parliamentary Caucus, the demonstration was highly patronised by people from all walks of life.

All the people that took part in the historic exercise were dressed in red and black clothes, to show their anger at government.

Hon. Blay, displaying abundance of energy, covered the full length of the protest which saw Kumasi coming to a standstill.

Addressing the crowd at Abbey’s Park after the walk, the NPP guru said he was lost for words over what he witnessed in the city.

He said the people of Asanteman had displayed their bravery by coming out to tell the government that it is not performing.

Hon. Blay said it was important that the people in other regions of the country followed the shining example of the people of Asanteman.

“Kumasi has set the ball rolling, and I think it’s about time that other regions also followed by demonstrating against the government.”

He said the leadership of the NPP was impressed with what the people in the region had done.

Hon. Blay assured that the party would stand behind Asanteman to fight the NDC administration.
