Former Minister for Energy, Boakye Agyarko, has launched a nationwide campaign dubbed Operation 1 Touch for Bawumia to rally support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, and its parliamentary candidates ahead of the December 7th general elections.

This grassroots-focused campaign began on the 25th of September, 2024, in the Ahafo Region.

As part of the campaign's kickoff, Agyarko visited three constituencies in the Asunafo South Constituency.

He intends to spend at least four days in the Ahafo Region, engaging directly with local communities, constituency executives, regional executives, and parliamentary candidates.

His goal is to reach as many electoral areas as possible to build a robust support base for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP’s parliamentary aspirants.

Boakye Agyarko’s strategy seeks to decentralize the campaign by encouraging party members to adopt specific communities, regions, constituencies, and polling stations.

He believes that, rather than having the entire party machinery follow the flagbearer, the rank and file should engage voters at the grassroots level to secure a "one-touch" victory for the NPP in the upcoming elections.

“Instead of all the rank and file following the flagbearer, it’s important we decentralize our efforts. Everyone should be actively campaigning in their communities to ensure the message of the NPP is heard and understood at every level,” Agyarko stated during one of his stops.

By focusing on localized campaigning, Boakye Agyarko hopes to create stronger voter connections, particularly in key battleground areas, as the December elections approach.
