The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stressed that building a united Ghana with opportunities for all Ghanaians remains his priority as President.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Chief of the Ashaiman Ewe Community and his elders, during his campaign tour of the constituency on Tuesday, Dr. Bawumia said he wants to build a Ghana where there will be equal opportunities for all, regardless of ethnic and religious backgrounds.
"Building one Ghana with opportunities for all is my priority," Dr. Bawumia said.
"I don't see religion when I look at people. I don't see tribe when I look at you. When I look at everybody, I see a human being like me," Dr. Bawumia said.
While urging the Ewe community in Ashaiman and the nation at large to support him, Dr. Bawumia assured them of his desire to also be a leader for the vulnerable in society.
"If you look at my body of work, I try so much to extend a helping hand to the vulnerable in society," Dr. Bawumia said.
Dr. Bawumia referred to his role as patron of the Lepers Council in Ghana, his advocacy for sickle cell and kidney patients, among others, to demonstrate his passion for the disadvantaged in society.
He assured the community that he won't take their support for granted, and as part of his inclusive development policies for all, he will ensure that their needs and the needs of Ashaiman are met.
"I don't take support for granted, and when you give me and the MP the opportunity, we will work very hard for you," he said.
