Chiefs should not be influenced by politicians - Prophet Daasebre

Daasebree Nana Mbea I, Mponuahene at Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, has called on his fellow chiefs to shun politicians who seek to influence them with flattery and monetary inducement to vote for them in Election 2012.

He asked them to rather give attention to politicians who would help them to develop their communities when they are voted into power.

Daasebre Nana Mbea also a Prophet in charge of Guankobea Prayer Ministry at Teacher Mante near Suhum in Suhum-Kwaboa Coaltar District of the Eastern Region, made the call during a two- week revival prayers for the President and the nation towards peaceful Election 2012.

He called on politicians to avoid using abusive language against their opponents and rather mobilise the people to initiate development projects.

Daasebre Nana Mbea called on the youth not to patronise politicians who want to induce them with money to cause violence before, during and after the elections.

He said as future leaders, the youth should have the fear of the Lord and abide by the principles that would facilitate incident-free general election.

Daasebre Nana Mbea called for fervent prayers to safeguard the peace and security of Ghana for the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

He expressed the need for the establishment of vocational and other technical institutions country-wide to offer the youth employable skills.**
