Tamale, Oct. 25, GNA - Mr. Clifford Abdallah Braimah, Northern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has advised party activists to choose people who are loyal and committed to the party and could lead them to win power in 2008.
He said the 2008 elections would be tough for NPP; therefore, it was necessary to scrutinize the candidates contesting for leadership in the party to ensure that they would not seek their personal interests to the detriment of the party's development.
Mr. Braimah who is seeking a re-election as the Northern Regional Secretary of the party, in an interview with the GNA in Tamale on Tuesday, advised those contesting for leadership to conduct them well in order not to jeopardize fortunes of the party.
"The way some candidates are at each other's 'throats' is not the best especially where some of them are using money to outwit each other just to become a leader should be discouraged," He said. Mr Braimah appealed to members of the party to behave maturely and conduct all the elections for executives in peace to strengthen the unity in the party for the 2008 elections.
