Mr Saeed Muhazu Jibril, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the West Gonja District in the Savannah Region has paid a working visit to three communities to interact with community members on government policies.
The DCE visited Sor number one, Sor Number two and three communities within the district to explain to community members, government major intervention programmes aimed at reducing poverty and improved sustainable community livelihoods.
Mr Jibril, who spoke at separate community durbars, said government’s flagship programmes such as; Planting for Food and Jobs (PfFJ), One Village One Dam (1V1D), One District One Factory (1D1F) as well as the Free Senior High School (SHS) policies were implemented to address community challenges.
He indicated that, the district would benefit more from the implementation of those policies, saying “Plans by government were far advanced for the implementation of the 1D1F and 1V1D programmes within the district”.
Mr Jibril announced that, provisions were far advanced to get the three communities connected to the national electricity grid by the end of 2019.
The community members expressed gratitude to the DCE for the timely visit and expressed readiness to take full advantage of the major government intervention programmes to contribute to the development of the country.
