Garu-Tempane (U/E), July 22, GNA - The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has elected 63-year-old, Mr. Edward Dramani, a former presiding member, as the party's parliamentary candidate for the Garu-Tempane constituency. He polled 106 votes to beat his opponent, Mr. Michael Awani, a 36-year-old tutor of Saint John Bosco's Training College in Navrongo who got 69 votes.
Mr. Dramani thanked the delegates and pledged to work hard to enable the party capture the seat in the constituency. Mr. Awani promised to rally behind the winner to capture the seat for the DFP. Mr. Issah Bogobire, the Regional Secretary of the party, said the DFP had no conflict with any political party and asked supporters of the party to show love to members of other political parties. He said the NDC and the NPP had served two terms each and called on the electorate to vote for the DFP. He said the DFP believed in the quality of life of the individual and pledged to initiate changes in the country when elected and asked the delegates to rally behind the candidate to wrestle power from the incumbent NDC MP of the area.
