Dodowa, July 9, GNA - Mr Michael Adorwah-Nortey, on Tuesday polled 47 votes with two against to become the Dangbe West District Chief Executive at Dodowa.
Before the election, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Minister for Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, advised the Assembly Members to ensure consensus building for the speedy development of the district. He noted that people could have divergent views on every subject and said that should not delay the progress of the area.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey said they should avoid mistrust, hatred, apathy and falsehood, which could derail the development of the area and appealed to the Assembly members to confirm the President's nominee for a second term to quicken the pace of development.
Mr Adorwah-Nortey expressed his gratitude to the Assembly Members and promised to work with them irrespective of their partisan leanings. Other speakers before the election included Sheikh I C Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Miss Gloria Akuffo, Deputy Regional Minister, Mr Daniel Dugan, Deputy Minister of Fisheries as well as the MP for Ningo/Prampram, Mr E T Mensah.
