Lawra, July 25, GNA - Mr Ambrose Dery, Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has presented five motorbikes and sixteen bicycles and accessories valued at 58 million cedis to the Lawra/Nandom Constituency of the New Patriotic Party, at Lawra.
The five motorbikes registered and covered with a comprehensive insurance were presented with two crush helmets each.
Making the presentation at Lawra, he said the items were his modest support towards the re-election campaign of President John Agyekum Kufuor and whoever emerges as the Party's Parliamentary Candidate after the primaries, yet to be held in the constituency.
Mr Dery, an aspiring NPP Parliamentary Candidate urged the electorate to vote massively for President Kufuor and NPP parliamentary candidates.
This he said was the only way Ghanaians could reward President Kufuor and his Government for the honour he had brought to the nation through his exemplary leadership, which had been acknowledged by other African Leaders.
By giving President Kufuor a second term in office, Ghanaians would also be showing their gratitude to the President for the freedom they now enjoyed as well as for the various development projects the government had initiated, he said.
Mr. Alhassan Mohammed Kachigu, Constituency Chairman, urged NPP activists to think of what they could do to make the Party to realise its wish of winning elections as many times as possible to ensure sustainable implementation of programmes.
He called for sacrifices and exemplary leadership to attract more members to the Party. The five main zones of Lawra, Babile, Nandom, Zambo and Basible-Ko each had one motorbike and two bicycles. 25 July 04
