Don’t campaign in our area - Chiefs tell politicians

Chiefs in Assin, Twifu and Denkyira, Abuakwa of the Central Region have warned the ruling government and opposition parties to desist from campaigning in the area ahead of November general elections.

They further warned that they will prevent the various political parties from canvassing for votes from their people.

Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs, the Abuakwahene who doubles as Nifahene of Denkyira Traditional council Daasebre Oduro Akenteng II indicated that all their roads are in deplorable state, making it difficult for farmers to transport their farm produce to the market.

He bemoaned that all activities in the area are halted when it rains.

The Abuakwahene cautioned that they will only allow the politicians to campaign on their lands until all the roads linking Dunkwa on- offin and Twifu praso are tarred.

He observed that they lack infrastructural development, blaming government for neglecting people of Denkyira, Assin and Twifu.

According to him, they were taken aback when the President Dramani Mahama, in his state of the nation address stated emphatically that the Dunkwa- Twifu Prado road has been tarred.
