Don’t underestimate NDC’s Grace Danquah – Kennedy Agyapong warns Essikado-Ketan NPP members

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Essikado-Ketan constituency, not to underestimate the challenge posed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Dr. Grace Danquah.

During the launch of the campaign for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Charles Bissue, in the Western Region on Saturday, 7 September 2024, Mr. Agyapong underscored the need for hard work and diligence to maintain the party's hold on a seat it has occupied for the past 20 years.

“I plead with you, let’s not treat this as a funfair but go to the various houses and spread the good word. Do not underestimate the Parliamentary Candidate of the NDC who is contesting. Do not underestimate her,” Mr. Agyapong cautioned.

He highlighted Dr. Danquah’s resilience and competitiveness in previous elections, pointing out.

“She has contested a sitting MP twice. The last time, the sitting MP had 26,000 votes, and she had 24,000,” he stated.

Mr. Agyapong warned against complacency and overconfidence, urging the NPP members to treat the upcoming election with seriousness.

“If you joke, thinking this is your stronghold and don’t campaign, you may lose the seat. So, I plead with the executives and the PC, we need unity, or else we won’t be victorious,” he emphasised.
