The Electoral Commission (EC) has received collated results from 12 out of 16 regions, inching closer to the declaration of the final results.
Political party agents are stationed at the National Collation Centre, scrutinising the incoming results to ensure transparency in the process, according to a report by TV3.
"Yesterday in the late hours, almost 12am, the EC had received collated results from 10 regions.
In a short while ago, two more have come taking the number to 12 out of the 16 expected reasons. We have party agents here perusing the regional results", the report stated.
At a press conference on December 9, EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa, assured the public of the commission's commitment to delivering results within the 72-hour timeline mandated by C.I. 127.
She reiterated that the EC was conducting the collation with diligence and in accordance with the law, to uphold the will of the Ghanaian electorate as expressed at polling stations nationwide.
Despite the EC's ongoing collation process, Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has conceded defeat in the 2024 presidential election, a gesture that triggered spontaneous celebrations across the country.
This concession came even before the EC had officially declared a quarter of the certified results.
