The National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo has rubbished the recent predictions by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) predicting a win for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) , describing it useless.

Opare Addo told Nana Kwabena Addo in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com on Radio 1 said that the prediction will not have a serious impact on the 2020 general elections.

According to him, the economic indicators in Ghana largely speak for the fact and he added that the EIU has not been credible in previous predictions especially predicting victory for NPP in the 2008 elections where the late prez Mills won.

“The EIU predicted the victory for NPP in 2008 but the late former president Mills won. As a party in opposition, we will work hard to win the 2020 election and I can tell you for a fact, Akufo-Addo will not form the next republic of Ghana in January 7 2021. The report is just useless,” he said.

The EIU has predicted victory for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 election in its latest report.

The report released last Friday, September 13, 2019, said the NPP and President Akufo-Addo will win next year’s election because Ghanaians see them as better custodians of the economy.

“The next national elections are due in 2020. The Economist Intelligence Unit expects the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain power, as the party is seen as a better custodian of the economy than the opposition National Democratic Congress,” it said.
