The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a statement in rebuttal to New Patriotic Party (NPP) recent press conference which the opposition says is an attempt to divert attention from the dilute and porous responses raised.
Members of the NDC held a press conference on October 2, 2018 advising its ex-appointees to refrain themselves from the alleged illegal, tainted audits of Edward Dua Agyeman and Senior Minister Osafo Marfo.
According to the opposition, the press conference held by the NPP was only an attempt to divert attention from the dilute and porous responses raised although there were some facts stated.
The statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu-Nketia described NPP's Director of Communications, Yaw Buaben Asamoa’s, response as “anemic, wobbly and flaccid punches that only caused him to increase the gaseousness in his belly.”
On the issue of some illegal audits commissioned by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), the NDC requested for a documentation showing that the Board of EOCO recommended that EOCO engage the services of the private firms in question.
“We call on the Chairman of the EOCO Board to show the nation evidence that EOCO did indeed engage the services of these private firms.”
The statement hence asked President Nana Akufo-Addo to call Yaw Buaben Asamoa to order.
It added that, “The hooliganism and recklessness must stop now! The dynastic reign of the tyrannical oppressor must end now, as we send an unequivocal message to the powers that be that ‘Enough is Enough’.
