Ankaase (Ash), Nov 26, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Asamoa Owusu-Ansah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Kwabre West, has called on members of the Party to educate the electorate on how to thump-print and fold ballot papers.
He said telling eligible voters to vote for the party without demonstrating to them how to cast their votes on Election Day was not enough.
Speaking at the first rally of the Party at Ankaase, Mr Owusu-Ansah urged the Party members and supporters to go to the polling station early in the morning to vote and after that leave the place and return when voting had ended to witness the counting of the ballots. The Parliamentary Candidate asked the supporters to canvass for votes for the NPP but warned them to approach non-members in a courteous manner so that they could win them to their fold.
Mr Kofi Frimpong, NPP parliamentary candidate for Kwabre East, urged the people to vote massively for President Kufuor to enable him secure a first round victory.
He said those complaining that there is no money in the system are those who do not want to work but want to enjoy.
He said he did not blame some Zongo communities for voting for the NDC in the 2000 elections, adding that they were deceived with lies and that now that they have seen the truth they will vote for Kufuor and the NPP government.
Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive, observed that any government that is committed to the development of the country should take interest in cocoa, timber and gold production and that is exactly what the NPP government is doing.
"Spraying of cocoa farms, provision of hi-tech fertilizers and payment of attractive producer price, as well as interventions in the areas of timber and gold mining are enough for all to see what the government is doing".
The DCE urged the people to turn out in their numbers on the election day to vote without fear of any intimidation, adding that, there will be adequate security for all.
