Effutu Municipal Assembly on Friday confirmed Nii Ephraim as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) during a special meeting in Winneba.
He polled 18 out of the 25 votes, representing 72 per cent in an election conducted by the Effutu Municipal Electoral Officials, led by Mr Anthony Oppong the Municipal Electoral officer.
Nii Ephraim, who was the former Chief Executive for the area before his re-nomination by the President, promised not to abuse the trust imposed in him.
He expressed the hope that the members will continue to cooperate with him to facilitate speedy development of the area.
Very Reverend Eldad Bonney, Presiding Member of the Assembly, commended the members for endorsing the MCE.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Alexander Afenyo Markin, said now that the MCE has been confirmed, members should put aside their personal and political sentiment in the interest of Effutu state.
He said it is only unity and hard work that would facilitate the development of the area.
Mr Samuel Sarpong, Central Regional Minister, who graced the occasion, also called for unity among the members and the MCE, to pave the way for developmental projects.
Mr Charles Owusu Nssiah, Winneba District Court Magistrate, swore the MCE into office after leading him to take the Oath of Office, Secrecy and allegiance.
