Alhaji Huudu Yahaya has appealed to people who have the perception to disturb the peace, unity, stability and integrity of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to abandon that idea since it would not help them.
He said those who had in mind to indulge in acts that would retard the growth and development of the party should put a stop to it.
Alhaji Yahaya said this when he sworn in new executives for the Effutu constituency of the NDC.
Mr. Lawrence Paa Nii Lamptey, Proprietor of the Stage Spot in Winneba, was elected as Chairman. He polled 155 votes out of the valid votes cast to beat two other contestants Mr. Robert O. Duncan who obtained 58 and Mr. Eric Ebo Appiah had 26 votes.
Mr. Frank Aboagye Ghunney, Vice Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Oboe Baiden, Secretary, Mr Kow Micah Turkson, Organizer, Mr Willie B. Sam, Deputy Organizer, Mr Benjamin Ebo Abbam Treasurer, and Ms. Baaba Amamoo, Women’s Organizer.
The rest were Georgina Amoah, Deputy Women’s Organizer, Mr Atta Mensah, Youth Organizer, Mr Alex Mensah, Deputy Youth Organizer, Mr Frank Kwakyi Omari, Propaganda Secretary, and Mr Elijah Afedzie, Deputy Propaganda.
Mr. Daniel Arhin, Deputy Secretary and Marcus Garvin Adampah, Deputy Treasurer were elected unopposed.
Police intervention prevented the hall becoming a boxing arena due to confusion created by a candidate who lost the elections when the officials started counting the ballots for the chairman and vice chairman positions.
Alhaji Yahayah condemned those who master minded the confusion and added that the NDC party was bigger than any individual person.
He appealed to supporters to bury their differences, put aside camps and work vigorously to strengthen the unity and tranquility in the party.
