The national hierarchy of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has noted that the Central Regional first Vice-Chairman, Ekow Ewusi's suspension is ‘valid’ until further notice.

The party’s Chief Scribe, John Boadu said on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that his office has received a formal letter from the region to suspend their first vice-chairman – but the party is yet to decide on it.

Even before the party decides, John Boadu was emphatic that Ekow Ewusi’s suspension still holds.

“As it stands now, yes, he [EKow Ewusi] has been suspended,” he told host Mac Jerry Osei Agyeman.

Mr. Ewusi was suspended by the Regional Chairman, Robert Kingsford Kutin Jnr after he refused to respond to a petition by one Edward Okraku Adum, who accused him of engaging in criminal acts including drug peddling.

He was also accused of escaping from prison in the UK as well as illegally auctioning seized excavators from mining sites.

The Regional Vice-Chairman is said to have asked the Chairman to produce the said petitioner to authenticate his claim before he responds to the claims which he agreed to do within a week.
