Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South Constituency, Samuel Atta Akyea, has downplayed a recent prophecy made by Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, on the forthcoming general elections, myjoyonline.com has reported.

The member of parliament described the prophecy as mere human predictions rather than divine declarations.

"It is human projections; it couldn’t be God’s projection. I am sad because I know Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, he shouldn’t have allowed himself to be used at an NDC political rally in the name of a spiritual gathering for such a message to come out,” he said.

"I am not happy Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah allowed himself to be contradicted in such a manner,” he added.

Rev. Owusu-Bempah, on October 1, 2024, during a prayer meeting organised by the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, prophesied that God has entrusted the country into the hands of John Mahama because of his good heart.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM on October 2, 2024, Atta Akyea cautioned against giving weight to such prophecies.

He emphasised that while spiritual beliefs vary, elections are decided by the will of the people through the ballot box, not by supernatural predictions.

Atta Akyea urged political parties to focus on the key issues and allow voters to make informed choices based on policies and leadership rather than relying on prophecies.

He further encouraged engagement with electorates to outline plans for Ghana’s future.

He reiterated that while spiritual leaders are entitled to their views, the democratic process remains the legitimate way to choose the nation's leadership, and voters should feel free to make their decision without external influence.

Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah is known to be closely affiliated with the New Patriotic Party and famed for making prophecies about elections in the country.

However, it appears the popular prophet may have switched camp due to his recent prophecy about the NDC’s flagbearer.
