Candidates, supporters, and political watchers have taken to social media to react to the final ballot positions for Ghana’s 2024 presidential election.

On Friday, 20 September 2024, the Electoral Commission of Ghana conducted a balloting event to determine the position of presidential candidates on the ballot paper for the December 7 election.

The event, held at the headquarters of the EC in Accra, was without incident, although some political parties and candidates raised various objections over the process.

Nana Kwame Bediako, an independent candidate, walked out of the event after objecting to the decision by the EC to ballot registered political party candidates above independent candidates.

The opposition National Democratic Congress, on the other hand, raised concerns over the integrity of the balloting.

The event, however, proceeded after several heated arguments before the final ballot positions were determined.

The final ballot for all 13 qualified candidates is as follows:

Mahamudu Bawumia - New Patriotic Party (NPP) - #1

Daniel Augustus Lartey Jnr - Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) - #2
