Frank Afriyie, a governance and leadership coach, has joined the race for the Volta Regional Chairmanship position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He filed his nomination on Friday, May 24, 2019, to join two others, Mr Francis Ganyaglo and Mr Henry Ametefe, all former Deputy Volta Regional Ministers.

In a press release copied to the Ghana News Agency, Mr Afriyie said he represented a change in the regional leadership of the Party that would consolidate gains made in the Region for victory in the 2020 general elections.

He said his theme of "New plan for power to empower" would inspire him to bring "change of social upward, mobility, economic emancipation..." Mr Afriyie said "as a young Akatamansonian, I believe the time has come for the Party to consolidate its gains via a harmonised system that employs the experience of the past with emerging trends of reform, renewal and growth."

He promised to lead the Party in a transparent manner in line with the Party's principles of probity, accountability and transparency.

Mr Afriyie said as a young person with rich corporate, governance and grassroots experience, he was the best to represent and understand the interests of the youth for mass mobilization for the 2020 elections.

He promised to rollout entrepreneur training for the youth and women and rebrand and remodel the Party.
