Free SHS is a necessit - Dwamena Yeboah

Mr. Dwamena Yeboah, National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in Germany has observed that the provision of Free SHS is necessary, feasible and must be now and not in ten or 20 years.
Speaking at the inauguration of the local chapter of the party in Stuttgart over the week end, Mr. Yeboah argued that the cost of failing to implement this laudable policy will be devastating with far reaching social, economic and political consequences for the country.
According to him no country can develop without making education accessible to a majority of its population particularly the youth and this explains why the constitution recognizes education as a right and not a privilege adding that the only way Ghana can give meaning to this constitutional provision is to make SHS free as advocated by Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP.
Mr. Yeboah said it was rather paradoxical and unfortunate that the people who are the beneficiaries (including President John Mahama) of free education have become the most ardent opponents of the free SHS policy and questioned” what makes them think that they have a right to free education which other Ghanaians should not be entitled to?”
He insisted that the position taken by the leadership of the NDC most of whom have benefited from free education smacks of hypocrisy, double standards and dishonesty and said the NDC has lost the moral right and credibility to ask Ghanaians to renew their mandate come December 7.
Earlier in a welcome address, Mr. Kwaku Appiah Chairman of the Stuttgart Chapter who is also the General Secretary of NPP Germany, said the four-year rule of the NDC has been characterized by incompetence, mismanagement and corruption of unprecedented proportions as evidenced by the payment of fraudulent Judgment debts to cronies and Ghost Chiefs(Traditional Rulers).
Mr. Appiah maintained that the present situation where government seem to have lost touch with the people and has no sense of direction is simply unacceptable and must be changed because Ghana and Ghanaians deserve better. He declared “our economy is in deep crisis, food has become unaffordable ,Gas, Electricity and Water shortages is now the norm, workers remained unpaid while parents cannot afford to pay school fees for their wards”
In the midst of all these, he continued, the government propaganda machinery continues to delude itself that the BITTER Ghana Agenda is on course much to annoyance of the ordinary Ghanaian whose living standard has been on the decline since 2009. He urged Ghanaians to vote for the NPP so as to save the country from further decline.
The Stuttgart chapter has Mr. Kwaku Appiah as the Chairman with Mr. Kwame Boakye-Agyemang as his vice.Mr Joseph Gyamfi Tuffour Addae is the secretary while Mr. Thomas Antwi and Mr Agyemang Badu become the organizing and assistant organizing secretaries respectively. Mr Kyei Baffour takes charge of communications and Public Relations. Mrs. Vida Addae Owusu is the Women´s Organizer and she is been assisted by Maame Serwaah. Mr. Johnny Kofi Nyantakyi, Nana Yaw Owusu and Pastor Daniel Addae Owusus are the Patrons.
