The Greater Accra Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Divine Agorhom, has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming election, describing him as the transformational leader needed to steer the nation in a new direction.

Speaking at the ‘Possibilities Victory Rally’ on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate Park, he emphasised the importance of the election.

“We are here to send a clear message to Ghanaians that we are ready to deliver a brighter future under the leadership of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The nation stands at a crossroads. All we need is a transformational leader—a man whose track record of competence speaks for itself.

"Let me remind all of us that victory will not be handed to us on a silver platter. There can be no room for complacency. We must rise to the occasion and seize the moment,” he stated.

He pointed out the unprecedented nature of Dr. Bawumia's campaign, noting his visits to all 16 regions and 276 constituencies as a testament to his commitment to the NPP's cause.

"This unparalleled feat in Ghana's political history demonstrates the seriousness of our mission," he remarked, but stressed that the work was far from over.

Reflecting on the NPP's legacy, he said, “Under the venerable John Agyekum Kufuor, the NPP transformed health, education, the economy, and infrastructure. Yet, despite these stellar achievements, we lost. Let us remember that the work is not yet done. We cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of the past. We must ensure voters turn out in their numbers to vote.”

He urged supporters to unite and make history stating, “Bawumia is the one candidate capable of building on our achievements. Together, let us secure victory for the NPP and deliver the brighter future Ghanaians deserve.”
